Acid Etching
This process results in a smooth, sand-textured surface. The process involves curing the panel, wetting with water, applying a dilute solution of acid and then thoroughly washing the panel to remove the acid whilst revealing the attractive textured finish.
The dominant visible feature that affects the overall look of an acid etched panel is the sand used in the concrete mix, the cement matrix colour has secondary influence and the coarse aggregate selection has a small influence in the final appearance.
Precast Concrete added acid wash to their suite of finishes in 2003 and since then have produced numerous examples of this high quality, durable finish on a range of projects in Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra. Contact us for further information.
